El presidente Rafael Correa se disculpó con comunidad LGBTI
Tal vez me extralimité, perdí la cabeza, hice esas expresiones: quién es el marica, el badea, en el sentido de para ver quién es el cobarde, eso ha molestado con justa razón a la comunidad GLBT. No me han mandado ninguna carta a la presidencia, pero sí la han puesto en las redes, dijo Correa.
Si ustedes consideran que el presidente cometió un error, les pido disculpas. Estas disculpas también irán a los cuatro grupos que pusieron sus comentarios en las redes sociales. «Lo siento sinceramente si los ofendí, no excluyo que haya esos estigmas todavía en mí, lo importante es que tratemos de vencer esos atavismos culturales, pero les reitero mi compromiso de luchar contra toda discriminación, dijo durante la transmisión del enlace sabatino, grabado ayer en una localidad cercana a Quito.

Correa recordó que los comentarios, que molestaron al grupo LGBTI, surgieron tras la publicación en la edición online de diario El Comercio de la opinión de uno de sus lectores.
«No solo que no esperábamos este exabrupto presidencial, sino que queremos hacer notar que, declaraciones y actitudes como estas y, peor aún, viniendo de donde vienen, abonan a que muchísimos ciudadan@s proactivos e importantes de nuestra sociedad permanezcan en sus vergonzosos e inhumanos «closets” y que el país tenga uno de los mayores índices de suicidios entre la población GLBT entre los 14 a 18 años», se escribió en la carta titulada Estigma presidencial.

Mandatario ofreció disculpas a comunidad GLBT
El Presidente señaló que el cibernauta que escribió el comentario pudo haber utilizado un nombre falso. También admitió que pudo haberse extralimitado cuando enfrentó a dicha persona para que le diga personalmente si era “badea o marica”.
Indicó que “con justa razón” esto ha molestado a la comunidad GLBT (Gays, Lesbianas, Bisexuales y Transexuales), que ha puesto en la red una carta de protesta que, en su caso, le dolió mucho, pero enfatizó que esa no fue su intención y que hizo esas expresiones para ver quién es el cobarde.
“La convicción de este Presidente es que estos prejuicios y estigmas tienen que ser superados. Señores de la comunidad GLBT si cometí un error les pido sinceramente las más sentidas disculpas y reitero el compromiso de este Gobierno de luchar contra toda discriminación, peor si son por preferencias sexuales”, manifestó.

Presidente de Ecuador se disculpa con comunidad homosexual por comentario
«Lo siento mucho si hubo esos excesos, lo siento sinceramente si los ofendí», recalcó el gobernante.
El presidente de Ecuador, Rafael Correa, se disculpó hoy públicamente con la comunidad homosexual que vio tintes homofónicos en una declaración suya de rechazo a una crítica publicada por un lector en la versión digital de un diario local.
El comentario del cibernauta, que escribió en el portal de El Comercio, fue una crítica al supuesto interés que tenía el Ministerio del Deporte porque el Comité Olímpico Internacional autorice el desfile de Correa, junto a la delegación nacional, en la inauguración de los Juegos Olímpicos en Londres.
La semana anterior, Correa desmintió que pretendiera participar en el desfile y criticó que el diario permitiera publicar el comentario que consideró soez de un lector, algo por lo que el diario se disculpó posteriormente.
Correa dijo en su informe semanal de labores, grabado ayer y transmitido hoy, que quien suscribió el comentario pudo haber usado un nombre falso.
«Tal vez perdí la cabeza, tal vez me extralimité y dije ‘que venga este señor para decirme personalmente si soy badea, marica’. Básicamente era en el sentido de para ver quién es el cobarde», explicó Correa.
Apuntó que «con justa razón» ese comentario ha molestado a la comunidad de Gays, Lesbianas, Bisexuales y Transexuales (GLBT) de Ecuador, que ha colocado en las redes sociales una carta de protesta, algo que, confesó, le «dolió mucho».
«No excluyo que uno nació en una sociedad llena de prejuicios, estigmas y que queden esos rasgos, hay que combatir esas cosas», dijo Correa.
«Como ciudadan@s GLBT de este país, nos ha dolido que un individuo procaz y descalificado, en «El Comercio» edición on-line, haya descargado todo su odio homofóbico y enfermizo tratando de ofender» a Correa, señalaron cuatro colectivos GLBT en la carta que también aparece en El Comercio.
Añadieron que «mucho más» ha dolido que, al responder, Correa «haya hecho gala de su semi-oculta homofobia, ‘cosificandonos’ al llamarnos ‘badeas’ y despectivamente ‘maricas'».
«Señores miembros de la comunidad GLBT, si cometí un error, les pido sinceramente las más sinceras disculpas (…) y les reitero el compromiso de este presidente, este Gobierno, de luchar contra la discriminación en todas sus formas y, peor aún, si son discriminaciones por preferencias sexuales», añadió.
Señaló que en los hechos «no hay Gobierno (como el suyo) que haya garantizado más los derechos de los grupos GLBT».
Agregó que las disculpas también las expresará por escrito y adelantó que si se presenta a las próximas elecciones presidenciales previstas para principios de 2013 y vence, «al día siguiente» del triunfo ratificará las disculpas.
